How many old pictures does your family have that no one knows who they are? Of the ones you do know, have you taken steps to pass that on to the next generation? I want to help you save names with faces for generations to come.
I also create family tree photo projects, scrapbook & mini scrapbook pages for you, and even holiday & occasion cards.
I have been doing our family genealogy for a couple decades now, and have become the family archivist. It is not unusual for me to receive old photos and even old negatives in the mail from distant relatives with a note explaining they were found in a drawer, or book, or box, and it was decided I might want them or that I should be the one who gets them. And, like every other family, no one knows who the people in the photos are, or even when the photo was taken. I decided to change that. It became my mission to save that knowledge and to pass it down to the next generation in my family. I was determined to identify everything possible.
It started with the old family photos, asking my elderly relatives if they knew the who, when, or where of the ones I was trying to identify. Over time, I visited most my elderly relatives with my scanner and collected pictures, clippings, documents, and stories from them all. I was able to get first hand confirmation of names, places, and dates for most of them. I was about 90% successful in getting them identified. Then what?? It always saddened me that old family pictures ended up in those drawers and boxes. Even the ones in big photo albums don’t get much attention.
Wanting to preserve and share the pictures, clippings, and stories with my family, I decided to use my digital scrapbooking program to make what I called Heritage Photos for my family. Mostly 4x6 prints of the photos on which I identified the person or persons in the photos, the date and anything special about it. I would print them out, place them in 4x6 albums and give them as gifts. Passing our family history on to the next generation in little photo albums. Friends started asking me to do it for them. Things took off and now I do it for others.
What I do.
I clean up the photo. crop it as needed. I can add names, dates, any text you want. I can take your photos, clippings, family stories, photos of family heirlooms and turn them into Heritage Photos for you. I can even use your genealogy information. I can make any size photo or poster for you to print. Let me make them for you.
I also do Holiday Cards, Scrapbook pages, Simple Family Trees, Photo Book Pages, and am willing to work on other projects for you. You send me your digital photo, I do the work, and send the digital file back to you. The original photo never leaves your possession...
