As we all knew, maybe, and said WTF is afoot here, when Judge Sarah B. Wallace ruled that Mr. Trump had engaged in insurrection with his actions both before as well as during the Jan. 6 coup attempt but he was allowed to remain on the ballot in Colorado, that this would be appealed.
Wallace’s ruling was inane, if not a transparent attempt to punt. On Monday night it was appealed to the Colorado Supreme Court. They agreed to hear the case quickly, as in briefs are due next Monday for oral arguments on Dec. 6.
I guess the importance of nailing a former President on the Section 3 clause of the 14 amendment clause -thou shalt not insurrect and say you were just acting in a Lord of the Flies play until your next campaign — requires more than one person’s gravitas.
I expect the Supreme Court in Colorado will rule in the people’s favor, as in we all benefit when this criminal is stopped or slowed, but you never know.
that’s why all attempts to wear us out, deaden our energies with incessant kryptonite level toxic performative public drama, must always remind us how incredibly important voting at the local level in every race for anything makes our exhaustion a minor annoyance.
#thanktaking is a way to show support for the brutality of colonizers — that’s most of us — of the Native American people. Don’t forget that the dramatic rendition of Thanksgiving is a solemn day of mourning for its victims.
Taking things from other people, and using laws and courts to make sure laws are only applied when they suit the wealthy white invariably Republican men of this country, is an evil protocol and absorbed vision some readily accept on a micro level for their lives.
Stop chasing the media. Create it.
