Hi,
I wrote a diary a month or two ago that did not go so well. I removed it, and hope this one fares better. If anyone wants to continue to take me to task for those ones, well, I hope you feel you are doing the country a service.
Anyway...
Newt Gingrich understands the power of language. The GOP understands the power of repeated messaging.
May I please suggest that people on this site stop using words like "afraid," "terrifying," when referring to what the GOP is doing?
Fear is the definition of disempowerment.
No one on the Right dwells in words of fear and disempowerment. They dwell in words of action.
That is why they get things done. Imagine telling your child everyday to be afraid and fear things and be terrified.
What would they think about the world around them? Would they feel ready to take on its challenges?
Likewise, I read routinely here that people say the Right is insane.
Folks, insanity does not involve plans to change the world. Insanity is not about organized ideas.
The GOP has organized ideas about how to change the world.
I suggest we all snap out of it and get that fear will kill us, and believing the GOP is insane will allow them to continue to undermine democracy until we finally get that they are NOT insane, but, rather, sane fascists.
Words matter.
