Free Speech is the original American Invention
This Labor Day weekend (September 1st through 4th) citizens around the country will be celebrating their Constitutional right to free speech by posting political messages on public property. In keeping with the First Amendment, signs will be posted on fencing around parks, libraries, government offices, freeways and interstate highways.
BY PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU!
Signs will be made out of cardboard and attached by wire and bungee cords to be easily removable in accordance with local ordinances - no graffiti, locks or adhesives will be used. Signs on overpasses and roadside fences will be legible and posted safely on the inside of fencing to eliminate any risk of falling into traffic.

Speech protected by the First Amendment must be non-commercial, non-threatening and cannot advocate violence, political or otherwise. Signs will only be placed on roadways already containing commercial speech.
We are asking at least 1,000 people to take up Freeway Blogging for this Day of Nationwide Action
Will you join the Freeway Blogger and make a sign and put it up on a public space over the Labor Day weekend? Then take a picture and send it to him here:
Participants are asked to photograph their work and share on social media.

The steps to creating a Freeway Blogging sign:
1) Get some cardboard (bike and large appliance boxes are best) boxes and cut them open and lay out flat
2) Use white latex paint and paint the INSIDE of the box. Latex creates a shield that keeps rain from melting the cardboard!
3) Use duct tape to tape the flaps together and flat.
4) Hang the blank sign on a garage wall or a fence
5) Decide on a message, use a computer and print the message out on a transparent paper
6) Use an overhead projector and shine the message on the blank cardboard
7) Trace the letters onto the blank cardboard
8) Take the cardboard down and put on flat surface to paint in the traced-on letters.
and repeat as needed …
Why Freeway Blogging?
It’s INEXPENSIVE
It’s quick and easy
It’s available to anyone with the ability to use tools like Duct tape, cardboard and paint
It puts YOUR MESSAGE in front of thousands (maybe 10s of thousands) or more people IN A SINGLE DAY.
Your message stays there until someone takes it down.
It couldn’t be any easier.
So if you couldn’t be at a rally this weekend or next weekend?
If big crowds make you too nervous and you can’t attend these events?
Maybe Freeway Blogging is the way for you to join the growing number of Americans who just can’t sit silently anymore while pernicious forces work to cause violence and danger here in our nation.
So don’t just sit silently anymore.
Use some cardboard, paint and duct tape and SPEAK OUT LOUDLY to the commuters driving to and from their jobs. Be HEARD.
Because every voice in America matters.
