CA Berkeley WV, a woman active at Daily Kos at one time, has died. She passed away February 15, 2015. Her death was confirmed to me this AM by her daughter.
Her name irl was Terri Taylor Miskovsky and a link to her obituary is here.
I met Terri at my first Netroots convention in 2010. We both worked on the Netroots for the Troops project. She was fun and funny and incredibly smart. Her degree from Berkeley was in mathematics, a field dominated by men. She appeared to enjoy that.
For a while, at Daily Kos, Terri worked with David Waldman and Casual Wednesday to keep us informed of congressional news with posts entitled CongressMatters and Capital Hill open threads.
The following is from Terri’s obituary:
After graduation from Sherman E. Burroughs High School at 16, she pursued a degree in mathematics from the University of California Berkeley. Terri eventually made her way back east and met her husband, Peter, in Shepherdstown, WV, where they began their large family of six girls (yes, six). She was a brilliant, opinionated, kind and fiercely independent woman; most of all, she was full of life.
Terri worked for WSP (Mountain Enterprises), a local steel-detailing firm first incorporated in Shepherdstown and currently located in Sharpsburg, MD. Always a friend to challenge, Terri excelled in a male-dominated field. She helped to develop ME2, one of the first three-dimensional modeling programs for structural steel detailing. Her list of accomplishments and high-profile projects was impressive after 34 years with WSP.
Condolences to Terri’s family and friends. May they find peace.
